Namibia's ConsumerConnect unifies complaint resolution across four regulators
The Bank of Namibia and the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia launched the ConsumerConnect pilot for citizen support and complaint resolution – an integrated AI agent network designed to bring together more than 2,000 banking, insurance, non-banking and telecommunications businesses under one inclusive standard for consumer recourse.
Citizens file to any participating regulator through webchat or WhatsApp without needing to know which regulator holds the mandate, in Afrikaans, English, German and Oshiwambo – starting with the most-spoken Kwanyama dialect.
Placeholder story. The deployment is public – see the launch announcement, Namibia launches AI agents for citizen support and complaint resolution – but the full client story has not been written yet. Everything above is drawn from that announcement; no figures have been added because none have been published for this deployment.
The programme was funded by the Gates Foundation as part of its consumer protection AI investment across six low- and middle-income countries.
